Serge Ambroise is an attorney with over 15 years of experience in litigation and in labor and employment law.  He has also advised creative individuals and helped non-profit organizations realize their goals and objectives.

Serge has represented labor unions and individuals in the public and private sectors, employee benefit funds, and businesses, in both state and federal court.  He also represented clients in administrative proceedings before such agencies as the National Labor Relations Board, the EEOC, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Social Security Administration, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York State Public Employee Relations Board, and the New York City Board of Collective Bargaining.  He represented unions in contract arbitration, disciplinary matters, employment discrimination cases, contract negotiations, election petitions, and the sale of real estate and other matters involving the management of property.  He helped negotiate severance payments for a group of union-represented employees after the closing of an iconic New York City business.  Serge has drafted, negotiated, and reviewed various agreements, including settlements to resolve grievances concerning disciplinary issues and other disputes, or to avoid costly litigation.  Serge also represented clients in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings in bankruptcy court, including Chapter 11 cases where clients were members of unsecured creditors’ committees.  He has also represented organizations in the formation of 501(c) non-profit entities, including entities created to manage real estate holdings.
Serge has also advised creative individuals such as musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, photographers, and writers on a variety of legal issues, including preparing a release for the use of an image or voice in a film; use of another party's corporate logo in a film; copyright infringement for the use of a photo; drafting a contract regarding ownership of, and profits derived from recordings; use of another party’s songs in a film; and ownership of creative work completed for an organization or employer on a website.

Serge graduated with a B.A. in political science from the University of Florida, an M.A. in history from the City College of New York, and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
